The way you moved on the court was so captivating to me

I just love the 'Mamba Mentality'

Because I too used to outwork players as a young athlete

And maybe I didn't want to admit it back then

But watching you carry yourself was such an inspiration

Hated when you beat the team I was rooting for

But that made me respect you more and more

Not the fastest, nor the biggest one on the court

It was obvious you were the most dedicated in the sport

I aspire to have your focus, I admire that passion

You weren't doing it for the clout, you had more on your mind than just fashion

Now I'm tryna inspire kids the same way you did for me

Some days I'm their best friend, some days I'm their enemy

Showing them to never back down, unless they in the low post

Instructing them to always keep their head up, like they're going coast to coast

Teaching them to love something and pursue their wildest dreams

Just like you had taught us we were more capable than our beliefs

I want to attack life like you attacked the rim

Kobe was such an icon I wish I could have conversated with him

People may never consider you the best at your sport and that's okay

You were one of the greatest all-around athletes I've ever seen play

Plus you inspired entire generations which is worth a lot more

No basketball jerseys will be more iconic than 8 and 24

Ok, maybe 23 but you would want it that way

I'm just super grateful for all your inspiring moments at the end of the day

So cheers to you, legend, rest easy with your girl
